Vehicle Donation Program
You can help Lake Country students receive a great education by donating your used car (and other vehicles) to Lake Country School! You’ll receive a tax deduction for your donation and avoid the hassle and cost of trading or selling your vehicle!
You can donate used:

All you need to make a donation:
The keys and the title are all you need. (Can’t find the title? Arrangements can be made to get you the documents you need.) You can drop off your donation at Lake Country School or we can arrange to have it picked up.
Determining the tax deduction for your vehicle donation:
The IRS has recently established new guidelines for determining the value of vehicle donations. Lake Country School partners with Cars With Heart, a vehicle donations agent, to accept vehicle donations and determine the value of the donation. Three factors will impact the valuation of your vehicle donation. These factors are:
(1) Whether you, the donor, elects to value the vehicle at less than $500. Upon such an election, acknowledgement of the donation will be provided within 30 days of the gift. Your deduction will be $500.
(2) Whether Cars With Heart determines that the vehicle requires little or no improvements or repairs. In that case, the value of the vehicle will be the gross proceeds from the sale. An acknowledgement letter of the sale will be provided to the donor within 30 days of the date of the sale.
(3) Whether Cars With Heart determines that the vehicle requires material improvements. If so, an acknowledgement letter will be provided to the donor within 30 days of the date of the donation indicating the approximate cost of repairs. It will be left to the donor to then make a good faith determination of the value of the donated vehicle. Cars With Heart will provide a Blue Book guide to assist the donor in determining the donated vehicle’s the fair market value.
