Our Admissions Process
Observe – Tuesday Mornings
Beginning in October, we host school visits for parents (without their children) Tuesday mornings, 9:30am-12:00pm. Parents observe at all levels of the school and participate in a question and answer session with staff. This meeting is an informal and valuable opportunity to ask questions and learn more about Lake Country School. Please read our observation guidelines here.
Attend Montessori Information Night
An event held on November 2, 2017 for prospective parents (adults only) to learn about Lake Country School and Montessori education.
Complete application for admission and submit with application fee
The admissions application deadline for first round consideration is February 1. Applications received after February 1 are considered and dependent on availability. Applicants for tuition assistance are not required to submit the application fee and may call for an admission application fee waiver code.
Complete tuition assistance application and submit with fee
Complete the Parent’s Financial Statement. Print a copy to submit, along with your 2017 IRS 1040 to the Lake Country School Business Manager by 5pm, March 1. Late tuition assistance applications will be considered, dependent on funding.
Children's House applicants will visit our teaching staff on Friday, March 2, 2018. We conduct a group visit for Children's House applicants and their parents. The children will work with a group of peers and teachers for 45 minutes. Parents may join their child or attend an information session with staff.
Elementary and Junior High applicants may be invited to spend a day or two in a classroom. Parents do not accompany their child, but may schedule to meet with staff.
Record Release and Teacher Recommendation
Upon receipt of application, Lake Country School will mail parents of Elementary and Junior High candidates both a record release form and a student recommendation form to sign and deliver to their child’s current school. This authorizes your child’s present school to send LCS a copy of your child’s school records and a teacher to submit a confidential recommendation. Click here for the records release form. Receive a decision from Lake Country School
Parents will be contacted regarding an admission decision by April 10. If a position is offered to your child at this time, a nonrefundable $500 tuition deposit will be due. Upon receipt of a tuition deposit, we will hold a place for your child in our program and you will be contractually obligated for the year's tuition.
Opt out of wait group
Applicants not admitted will be automatically placed in the wait group. If you do not wish to be placed in our wait group, please notify the Admissions Office. If admission is not offered by the fall and you would like to remain in the wait group, please notify the Admissions Office regarding re-application and request re-application fee waiver code. Dates and fees are subject to change. Please call to confirm.
